I've always been entertained by cartoon and popular culture references to cats sitting on fences and wailing loudly during the night to attract a mate. (Of course, when it's a real cat outside your window at 2am, it is a little less charming.) Anyway, I used this idea as the basis for my summer school homework. MFT is hosting another summer school session, which is all about color. Participating in the lessons has been informative, challenging, and fun! The lesson I'm focusing on today is monochromatic design. I tried to incorporate Julia's tips about creating interest with texture. I used stitched dies and a textured die (the camera didn't pick up this detail, but the MFT fence produces a woodgrain finish--I love little things like that). I also added glitter and gems to the black cardstock for a bit of sparkle. Additionally, I used pearlescent cardstock for the clouds. In real life, it's quite sparkly. (IRL, the greys are the same tone too)
Keeping with the theme of the card, the inside sentiment says, "Sending you a love song."
That's it for me this evening! Thanks for stopping by.
What a great design for a monochromatic look! Love how you used the clouds, and the kitty and fence are adorable! Love this!!!
